I am writing on behalf of DigiBC, the Interactive and Digital Media Industry Association of British Columbia. DigiBC is currently hosting a free music challenge called DigiMusic for high school students in British Columbia, and would love to spread awareness of the event in your community. I've included a description below about DigiMusic. I can also send over an eflyer about the event if you would like, too.
Would it be possible to promote DigiMusic through your community newsletter or events calendar?

ABOUT DIGIMUSIC SUMMER 2020
DigiBC is proud to announce the launch of DigiMusic Summer 2020, a free music composition challenge for grades 7-12 students in British Columbia.
We invite young musicians and composers of all varieties to create a musical score that is based around one of the four clips featured on the DigiMusic website from world famous video games and animated films that have been created right here in British Columbia.
All students that submit a musical piece will be entered in a draw to win some cutting-edge music and recording equipment.
We are accepting music entries from now until July 31st, 11:59PM PDT.

Public Notice June 1, 2020
Good Day Everyone:
Some received this email on June 3, 2020. This is a friendly reminder:
Please see email below and the attached jpeg from the Village of Alert Bay:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Village of Alert Bay has been receiving calls about visitors coming to Cormorant Island. We understand this is a difficult time for businesses in the tourism sector. We understand that you seek to operate and are looking for assurances that travel is not being restricted in any way. It is not, BC Ferries will be bringing the new ferry online in June.
The three local authorities, the Village of Alert Bay, the ‘Namgis First Nation and Whe-la-la-u Area Council, have drafted the attached notice to provide expectation to the public and potential visitors of the realities of services on Cormorant Island. This is being done to emphasize that the community at large is working to ensure the safety of the residents and visitors alike. We feel that the appropriate disclosure in advance of a visit is paramount. All BC communities are experiencing the same restrictions related to shopping and services that result in lineups outside of stores and possibility limited store hours. We would encourage you to be forthcoming on your business’s specific safety protocols in advance of your guest’s arrival to set expectations and provide peace of mind on safety concerns.

Wishing you a great day.

Hi everyone – I would like to request your help giving one last promo push to the Housing Needs Questionnaire. I know many of you have been receiving completed paper version through your offices, which has been great, but we would like to see one last push of the online version to see if we can’t get a few more responses. I am attaching an updated questionnaire promo that indicates June 28th as the closing date. Can you please do your best to share this through your internal and external networks. Mailing lists, social media, share with other community partners to post, distribute to local board and council members to also share. You are also welcome to print and post this notice in town if you feel that would be effective for spreading the word in your community.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks, Sarah

BC COVID-19 SPEAK - YOUR STORY - OUR FUTURE
Your story, our future
BC COVID-19 SPEAK: Your story, our future is a population health survey to elicit citizen experience, knowledge and actions during the COVID-19 pandemic. This survey is the first of several activities that will strengthen our pandemic response and our understanding of the impacts of COVID-19 to date (social, economic, mental wellness and community wellness).
At the end of the survey, you will be asked about participating in two important initiatives:
A serology survey (blood testing) to help determine immunity across the population
Planning for future waves in which identifying, containing and tracing are substantially strengthened through technology tools to enable integrated and coordinated information sharing
Please use the latest web browsers for optimal experience. The survey will be open until May 31.

SAFETY TIPS in moving forward:
Although we are low risk on Vancouver Island and back to low risk on North Vancouver Island and Cormorant Island. We still need to remain vigilant and take all precautionary steps to being safe. Please, if you do not need to travel stay home, but...
If you must travel, please ensure you have three items in your vehicle:
Hand Sanitizer
Disinfectant Wipes (if possible)
Facial Mask(s)
Word is, that some stores will not let you in unless you wear a facial mask. Limit your exposure as much as possible and remember to Hand Wash and practice physical distancing.
UPON RETURNING HOME:
Stay in your vehicle when on the ferry.
Do not make any unnecessary stops when you get off the ferry - go directly home.
Ensure to clean and disinfect everything.
*Hand wash, hand wash and physical distancing is key to prevent the virus from spreading. Monitor and Self Assess your health - if you start to feel unwell - keep the RDMW Health Line number handy (250) 902-6091 to make an appointment for testing.
BE PREPARED with an INFLUENZA KIT:
Gingerale or Gatorade
Tyenol and/or Children's Tyenol
Gravol and/or Children's Gravol

Keep your kit store somewhere Kool. For any medication ensure to consult with your doctor first.
