We know there has been some concern with regards to the new street lights being rolled out. This post is to let you know that Hydro is going to come in and place a few of the new LED lights to help us make our choices for the replacement process. They are going to put two by BC Ferries on Fir street. One closest to the ferry will be a 162 watt and 114 watt closer to town. Then there will be two on Alder Road by the Alert Bay Campground one will be a 39 watt and the other will be a 75 watt LED. So there will be some test lights arriving in Alert Bay in the near future.

COVID19 Vaccine May 2021
Good Friday afternoon!
Thank you for being strong community partners to help spread the word about COVID-19 vaccines. This email contains information on the process, and key messages to share. Attached is a poster you can print out and put in high-traffic areas, and a social media post for you to share with your networks or use to create your own materials.
Copy/paste/share/promote in any way you see fit. Post on social media, send an email to your network, call the young adults in your life! Don’t be limited to what we’ve provided here… get creative and help spread the word!
Please think about who you know who has a strong network that can help us reach younger adults (age 18-39 in particular) and pass this along to them with an ask to help out too. Spreading the word about getting vaccinated is a shared responsibility – thank you for doing your part!
Community partners have been strong allies in the vaccination effort, and we appreciate your continued support and participation.

BC’s COVID-19 immunization effort has picked up steam and we have increased clinic capacity to complete first doses by late June. As of May 12 we immunized 370,000 people with their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine – 50% of our eligible adult population. That is an incredibly important milestone, but we are not at the first-dose finish line yet.
The faster we complete first doses, the greater our ability to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on our communities and start to get back to something closer to a normal summer. That is why it is so important that everyone be registered in the provincial ‘Get Vaccinated’ online booking system.
Everyone aged 25+ can book their appointment now, and by this Sunday May 16, everyone 18+ will be able to book. It’s been a long wait for many people, but now is finally the time for all of us to get registered, get booked and vaccinated.
Please help us share this information and encourage everyone in your networks and communities to register now and book their vaccination appointments.
